Museum Collection Photography

As a collection photographer I have the honour to work closely with remarkable objects at great museums.

Currently I’m working at The National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam photographing a wide variety of objects. From shipmodels to glassware to maps and prints.
The Van Gogh Museum was a recent client in 2024-2025 and from 2018 to 2021 I worked for Het Rijksmuseum photographing their collection of prints and photographs by the quality standard of Metamorfoze.

I enjoy working at museums and their depots, where art and heritage objects wait on shelves and in drawers until admired in public again. Before exhibited, they are quietly waiting there, without the context of an exhibition, without their usual pedestal. It feels as a privilege to be able to work amongst them and having them before my lens. To bring out their texture, material, shape and size and doing so in the best quality possible.

The Cultural Heritage Agency of The Netherlands was my first introduction to this work field. Between 2013 - 2018 I captured their very varied collection which gave me a lot of experience with objects of different material, size and shape.
